Living Waters for the World Training
Clean Water U (CWU)
Hopewell Camp and Conference Center
Oct. 18-22, 2017
Back in March, Dave Patterson was a member of a mission trip with Living Waters for the World (LWW) where they installed a water filtration system at the New Jerusalem Methodist Church in Holguin, Cuba. The system now supplies clean water for the surrounding village. Many of you generously supported this mission by donating items for the village and nearby children’s home and by making monetary contributions which were given to the New Jerusalem Methodist Church to support their ministry.
We are looking at establishing a team to lead a 2018/2019 LWW mission probably back to Cuba. We would like to invite anyone interested in being a part of a mission team to participate in the next training at Clean Water U (CWU), the training school of Living Waters for the World. CWU is located in the woods of Hopewell Camp and Conference Center in Oxford, Mississippi, Clean Water U is a simulation experience designed to equip mission team leaders with the skills necessary to:
1) form partnerships with communities in need of clean water
2) equip local leaders to lead ongoing health education
3) empower communities to install and sustain a LWW water purification system
These learning objectives are taught in 3 separate workshops which run concurrently during the five-day session. A church or organization sends three or more representatives - at least one participant for each workshop.
Dave Patterson is registered for Water Project Management and Relationship Development Workshop.
Pat Patterson is registered for Health and Spiritual Education Workshop.
To complete our core team, we would like to have someone take the Water Testing, Water System Installation, Operation and Maintenance Workshop. Someone with plumbing background would be ideal candidate.
Training cost/person is @$1000 which includes course registration, room & board & flight. If you are interested in taking Water Testing, Water System Installation, Operation and Maintenance Workshop (CWU 103), but cost is a financial burden, please contact Pat or Dave Patterson. Depending upon your situation, there may be some grants available.
