What is the format of a typical Sunday worship service at CUMC?
Each worship service begins with general announcements, followed by a melody of songs performed by our in-house Praise Band or Choir. After a short opening prayer, worship breaks for a meet & greet, giving those gathered a few minutes to say hello to one another. This is followed by the first scripture reading, the collection of offerings, and the reading of joys & concerns. Afterwards, the Praise Band retakes the stage to perform a meditative song. The second scripture reading is read and the main message of the worship service is delivered by the pastor or featured speaker. An additional song is performed, followed by the benediction, and a closing song.
Does CUMC offer Holy Communion?
Holy Communion is offered at the first worship service of each month. All in attendance are invited to share in the body and blood of Christ, regardless of age or denomination.
How kid-friendly is CUMC?
We love having kids at our worship service! Bags of crayons and coloring books are available for young ones at the back of the church. If our music makes them want to move and dance around, well then praise God! However, we also offer our youngest church attendees a Safe Sanctuary Certified Nursery filled with tons of games, toys, and other activities. The CUMC nursery is open during our 10am worship service.
